Government

Citizens and companies expect to be helped by the public services with at least the same efficiency as in the private sector.

In the public sector, Telindus, as a European player, sets itself apart from the competition through its broad range of services and its expertise in 'end-to-end' solutions. Special attention is paid to the analysis of the specific requirements of vertical market sectors and specific customers in the public sector. Over the last decades, Telindus has consolidated its position in the public sector by integrating LAN and Campus networks, providing IT infrastructure security, developing interfaces between various applications, remote management.

Telindus has been a preferred government partner for many years.

Telindus has completed a large number of ICT projects in the public sector. These projects range from specific and complex e-Government and e-learning applications and services, to end-to-end solutions from drawing board to implementation. In joint co-operation, Telindus has completed several end-to-end ICT projects in the public sector. Projects include MAN (Metropolitan Area Network) platforms in different European cities, the outsourcing contract of the Flemish Community, management of e-Government services and the implementation of the ASTRID Radio network for the Belgian emergency services.

Telindus assists the government on every level in ICT projects, from advice in risk management, over customised business applications and collaboration projects to the design and implementation of secure and well managed infrastructures.

The 'government' sector is split up into local government and central government.

Local Government

Citizen Relation Management for the 24/7 city

Cities and municipalities experience a number of common challenges. The citizen and the business expect to be serviced with at least the same quality level as in the private sector. The Internet generation requires an availability of 24/7. Furthermore, the local government of today wants to provide official documents like planning permissions, forms for allowances, …  via its portal.

Cities and municipalities want to optimise their services, but are often confronted with financial challenges. Furthermore, the ICT technologies are evolving faster than ever and staying up-to-date is costly. It is quite difficult for local governments to find employees that can give a boost to their ICT department. And if they find them, how can they motivate their ICT personnel?

The Telindus Intelligent x Service Provider (IxSP) model offers an adequate answer to these problems.

The Telindus offering consists of network connectivity, storage and collaboration platforms, like e-mail, calendaring and a portal, in which an eID functionality can be integrated. All this in a hosted model and on a 'pay per use' basis. Telindus can also provide the portal with Citizen Relationship Management to assure a smooth user experience. Thanks to this model, local governments can profit from industrial standards they never had the chance to have before.

Next to that, Telindus offers video camera surveillance in public buildings and critical locations in cities and towns and the implementation of electronic counters that are accessible via the Internet, together with the necessary network security and local Radio networks (for the emergency services and ports).
