No wires attached: City of Westminster embraces next generation IP infrastructure
Serving the needs of businesses, residents and tourists alike, the City of Westminster has to fulfil many roles, and at the core of these is the ability to ensure the safety and smooth running of everyday life.   This includes not only the lives of residents, workers and tourists, but also those of the council’s staff such as parking attendants and environmental officers.  With such a large area to monitor, the council could not rely purely on traditional monitoring and enforcement tactics, i.e. individual officers patrolling the borough and fixed CCTV cameras.
