Telindus and Perform Group - Finalists at Network Computing Awards 2008
Odiham, UK - 14 March 2008 - IT networking specialist, Telindus was named as a finalist at this year’s Network Computing Awards which took place on 13th March 2008 at The Tower Hotel, London.
Nominated for ‘Network Project of the Year’, Telindus was selected for the excellent work carried out with customer, the Perform Group (formerly Premium TV), in transforming its IP infrastructure in order to manage their 150 million web hits each month.
Working with clients such as the Premier League, The Football League and Virgin Media, the Perform Group provide an end-to-end, multi-platform digital service that enables content owners to generate revenue from streaming media to customers. With its clients generating more and more digital content – the company streams over 10,000 live events per year – the Perform Group turned to Telindus in late 2006 to design a robust, load balancing network infrastructure that could expand with its growing business.
Following a period of consultation, Telindus designed a new network platform based on Cisco’s Catalyst 6500 Series Switch (incorporating the latest control cards and Application Control Engine (ACE) blades) to provide Premium TV with the highest levels of availability and scalability.
The Network Computing Awards were set up to recognise the products and companies that have most impressed the readers of Network Computing, the UK’s longest established networking publication. The ‘Network Project of the Year’ award was one of two not decided upon by reader vote but instead by the learned judging panel.
