Telindus and Customer Awards

Techworld Awards 2008
Telindus and Harland and Wolff's state of the art IP surveillance system was named 'Security Project of the Year' at the 2008 Techworld Awards.

"There was a lot of interest in this particular award, reflecting the importance of security projects to most CIOs. Harland and Wolff placed a high premium on security, especially its network of CCTVs which were proving to be expensive to maintain. Telindus developed an implementation that mixed and matched old equipment with new; cut costs and delivered a robust surveillance system, within budget and ahead of time. It was this mixture of technical nous and project management skill that impressed the judges.”
Maxwell Cooter, Editor of Techworld.

CNET Awards 2006
At the 2006 CNET Networks UK Technology Awards, The Royal was named ‘Public Sector Technology Project of the Year’. The Royal Hospitals is Northern Ireland's largest and best known hospital complex, treating more than half a million people every year. Their existing network was proving increasingly difficult to manage. They rolled out a secure wireless network that would enable staff to work anywhere, anytime and meet the aims of the NHS Modernisation Agency. This has improved patients' experiences; saved clinician hours, hospital beds and appointments; virtually eliminated waiting lists; tangibly improved clinical qualities and outcomes; made it easier to attract and retain staff; and provided more reliable, flexible processes of care.

The judges' comments: Wireless has promised much but often let us down through unreliability, poor manageability and incompatibility. The Royal Hospitals bit the bullet and brought wireless into the health sector in a massive way, and proved that it need not be like that. Users love it and trust it to work, while for once the cost savings and increased efficiencies are beyond doubt.
